a bear arrives!

Some time ago I painted a lifesize dolphin for a project in Albufeira Marina along with 40 other artists.I have some images somewhere in the labyrinth of files.My intention is to paint the bear like the sky at night complete with Ursa minor and major and maybe a moon!
The common Celtic word for bear is "Artos"..Breton " Arzh" A"Mystagogue"
In Siberia and Alaska the bear is placed in the same category as the moon....because it vanishes in winter and reappears in spring. The bear is held to be the ancestor of the human race?
" A lunar creature and therefore nocturnal"
The word is echoed in the name of the mythical King Arthur .....Artoris
In the underground temples of Pueblo Indians there was a ritual hearth named the bear,the animal was associated with the powers of the underworld.
Until recently there were bear graveyards in Siberia!
